The Filmonik monthly short film screening is back in June in its livestream show format. Up-and-coming or established filmmakers around Filmonik Melbourne have reliably created and screened amazingly fun, non-commercial and/or urgent short films to an audience hungry for the freshest films in Melbourne and just an all-around good time.
We were always providing a non-competitive party atmosphere and to adapt to the current events we just said “whatever, we’ll livestream the show from our living room for now”. With social restrictions easing in June we should get out of our living room to spice things up a bit. Maybe we’ll just land in someone else’s living room with a few other guests or we get to be on a set. Whatever happens in June and beyond, expect a livestream of it and your best bet to see it is filmonik.com.au/live
FILMMAKERS: If you have a short film shorter than 5-6 minute that can be published part of the Filmonik show then submit it to us and we’ll be in touch to show you how we’ll do the interview via video call. Isolation films are still current and can be fun creatively but older films you’ve been sitting on and premieres are certainly welcome too.

Filmonik is part of the worldwide Kino movement active in more than 70 cities around the world but super decentralised and without any of that corporate stuff going on. (http://www.planetekino.com).
LOOP Project Space & Bar has been supporting thousands of emerging filmmakers, artists musicians, festivals, comedy nights, forums, DJ’s, not-for-profits, indigenous & LGBTQIA communities since 2003. We want to continue to support our community by migrating our program online during these difficult times. PLEASE NOTE: We’ve been recording the March, April and May Filmonik livestreams without any guests in accordance to law (or good judgement in May because guests were legal). In June we wish to change scenery but will do the show according to what feels right and in line with Victorian guidelines.
