Spotlight on Sophia!
We had such a great time at our first open mic night and here is Sophia’s short film.
“A short film made for Filmonik Melbourne’s first screening 27th May 2013. It’s a scene From Howard Hawks ‘The Big Sleep’ only with two female friends attempting to play Bogie and Bacall. The captions, which are out of sync with the dialogue, which is also (very) out of sync are the actual captions you find on youtube if you watch the ‘prank call’ scene from the film uploaded here and press captions. It was supposed to be about turning straight scripts gay, but ended up being absurd and about traces and copying texts and subtext and meanings lost in translation. It’s very bad, but so bad it’s funny (hopefully).” Sophia
